I am 5 ' 6 "and ordered a little, then returned them by means of. I have long legs and I wanted more space to sit and move. I'm very, very happy with the medium. are not ' poofy ' as some ski/snow pants. are neatly lined but not heavy and are hot enough. the long Zipper up the side of the leg allows for good measure boots. inner liner that fits over boots has just the right amount of stretch and a tacky border that holds it in place. they are comfortable enough to wear on the boards when it is below zero. overall, I highly recommend these.
